Our History
The Russell family traditional gold and silversmith business was founded in 1887 and is carried on today by third and fourth generation master craftsmen Bruce and Simon Russell who also own and manage the Guernsey Mint Bullion Company.
Awards and Commissions
They have received many awards and commissions to design and craft gold and silver pieces for celebrities, corporations, The Vatican, and the British Royal Family. Bruce is also a freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, London and was responsible for introducing a Channel Island hallmark system in 1975.
The Guernsey Mint Bullion Company manufactures fine bullion coins and bars and works closely with Swiss and German Refiners in the delivery of Gold, Silver, Platinum, and Palladium 'good delivery' bars for banks, institutions and clients worldwide. It is one of the few Mints to supply physical bullion from a single bar to large quantities, at one of the most competitive tax-free prices in Europe. Bullion is not kept on premises, but in our secure off-site vaults. It is available to collect direct from the Mint provided three days notice is given.
Visiting
Operating out of traditional Guernsey granite properties built in 1620, the business is set in 8 acres of extensive gardens and nature reserve which have received several environmental awards. The showrooms, workshops, gardens and Michelin award-winning restaurant are open to visitors every day. During the summer the Guernsey Mint is open Monday to Friday and during the winter, Monday to Saturday.
